I'm a GIRL!

Because of my appearance, peeps often mistaken me for a boy.
It happened again today when Me and Mum was having our walkies this morning, a stranger came up and said to Mum, "You're dog is so handsome!"
I was so pissed off so I had no other choice than to bark that lady out loud.

She said HANDSOME. I repeat, H-A-N-D-S-O-M-E.

LISTEN peeps! Just because I have mustache, beard and bushy eyebrow doesn't mean I'm a boy!

I'm a girl. See?

My advice to peeps if next time they see a dog they want to compliment, please consider the dog's and the dog's parents' feeling. For example you can say something like "You're one cute pup!" or "Your dog is adorable!" or anything gender neutral.

  1. Hahaha! I know! I hate when someone calls Maddie "boy" no she is girl!

  2. Hari OM
Usually it's folks who don't have dogs themselves I think... My angel Jade was a sleek and short haired dog and anybody with any sense would have been able to ascertain her gender with a very easy 'check of the undercarriage' - but still there were folks who would say 'oh what a good BOY'!!! I understand your outrage Suri... Perhaps an ear-bow on your walkies might help out??? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. I'm so sorry Suri. Bailey was adopted with his name in place. It is kind of a generic name and he is constantly being called a girl. So, he fully understands how frustrating it is. It has only gotten worse since Katy has come along since now people think we have two girls.

  4. Our rough collie Ryder is always called a girl, even though he is much bigger than our girls. I think it's all that long, beautiful fur. BOL

  5. You are a beautiful girl. Peoples call us a Pug
    Lily & Edward

  6. Oh that is a beautiful time that happened to a grandpeep in her pink outfit, with bows in her hair, they thought she was a boy???????????????????

  7. Terrier types get that all the time. Put some lipstick on and remove their incorrect assumptions.

  8. What?!? How could they mistake you fur a boy?!?
You, dearest Suri are the most gorgeous beautiful girlie I haf evers seen!!!!
Don't you listen to silly peeps
    Loves and licky kisses

  9. Hi Suri,
I totally get what you are saying. I get called "HE" all the time. It doesn't help that my favorite harness is BLACK. But I always accessorize it with pink collars and such. Most people cannot tell if a pug is a girl or a boy. I think that is pretty silly considering we have very different and quite visible plumbing.
You look very very girlie to me with or without the dress.
    Love Noodles

  10. Hey Sweetie,
What can I say..... dar are a lot of stupid peep out dar. They are not as smart as us dogs. We can always tell girls from boys cuz we get right in dar and check.
Maybe you need to wear a bright PINK harness/collar.

  11. Because I am so big (70lbs) people keep calling me a BOY. Even after they ask my name!!! Because I have short hair, it is very clear from behind that my plumbing shows I am a GIRL!!! Mum and I get very annoyed when, even AFTER she has corrected them and told them I'm a GIRL!!!

  12. Peeps are so silly. Mr. Bailey is actually part of Bailey's official name (Mr Bailey's Irish Cream) so we call him Mr Bailey so no confusion
    Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel

  13. People can be confused about our gender. You have to cut them some slack!

  14. You are a beautiful girl!! I just love your dress!!

  15. You're a very cute girlie-girl too! We and ghostwriter really miss having a girlie dog, since Miss Ginger went across the Rainbow Bridge a few years ago. We've been looking at the ads every day for a cocker spaniel girlie puppy. No luck yet.

  16. People think I am a boy.
Did you know I was a girl?
    I know how you feel

  17. I get called a "he" all da time too. Sometimes even when I'm wearin PINK!

  18. That is very good advice!!

    Ziggy Out!

  19. Oh Suri, I am so sorry people are so dopey that they call you a handsome boy! It is so obvious you are a gorgeous girl! I think the advice you gave was spot on.

  20. The scotties are always called boys and called Jock.

  21. Hi hi hi! Ojo here! That happens to me all the time too! I thought it was because I am a Black Dog, but you are a Light Dog and it happens to you too! People are silly. They should not make assumptions. Instead they should just sniff us and know for sure, just like we do with each other!

Drop a comment to make me dance. Wiggly wiggly!
